Privacy Policy

This policy explains what The Oval Updates collects, why, and what your choices are. The Service is operated by WorkInProgress Platforms Inc., a company incorporated in British Columbia, Canada (“we,” “us,” or “our”). We keep this simple: we collect the minimum needed to run the bot and bill the subscription, and we don’t sell your data.
1. Information we collect
- Telegram account details — your Telegram user ID, chat ID, and username (if set). We need these to know where to send alerts and to recognize you when you return.
- Subscription status — your trial and subscription state and the relevant dates (e.g. trial end, paid-through date, cancellation date).
- Payment information — handled by Stripe. We do not see or store your full card number. We store Stripe’s customer and subscription identifiers so we can manage billing.
We don’t ask for your name, email, address, or phone number to use the Service.
2. How we use it
- To deliver the alerts you signed up for.
- To run your free trial and manage your subscription, renewals, and cancellation.
- To process payments through Stripe.
- To respond to your questions and provide support.
- To keep the Service secure and working, and to meet legal and accounting obligations.
3. Service providers we share data with
We share only what’s necessary with providers that help us run the Service, each acting on our behalf:
- Telegram — message delivery. (Telegram privacy policy)
- Stripe — payment processing. (Stripe privacy policy)
- Hosting & infrastructure — providers such as Vercel, Supabase, and Trigger.dev that host our application, database, and scheduled jobs.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights, users, or the Service.
4. International transfers
Some of our providers store and process data on servers outside Canada, including in the United States. Where that happens, the information may be subject to the laws of those jurisdictions.
5. Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service and meet legal, tax, and accounting requirements. If you stop using the Service, we delete or anonymize data we no longer need. You can ask us to delete your data (see your rights below).
6. Your rights
Under Canadian privacy law (PIPEDA and B.C.’s PIPA), you can request to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, and ask how it’s being used. To make a request, email ovalupdates@gmail.com from the account you use with the bot, or include your Telegram username so we can verify you. You can also stop all processing at any time by cancelling and no longer using the bot.
7. Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we can’t guarantee absolute security.
8. Children
The Service isn’t directed to, or intended for, anyone under the age of majority in their jurisdiction, and we don’t knowingly collect their information.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above.
